Multi Camera Set Up Studio Events
What is a multi camera set up?
Give examples with screen shot
How does it work?
It works by multiple cameras being set up and the camera operators transitioning through the shots during the studio event to show different angles and perspectives of the event.
What is its purpose?
The purpose of multi camera set ups in studio events are to give the audience more perspectives of the set and the different people involved, For example, multiple camera can show the different characters on the set of the studio.
What is a studio event?
A studio event is an event that is held in a studio in front of a live audience in many different formats.
What kind of formats do studio events have?
Panel Show
Panel Show and Magazine Shows are very similar towards each other because they're set out the same way, for example the way the studio laid out in terms of audience and where the camera are. Panel shows use many camera because they are having to focus on different things all over the set, out of all of the formats a panel show uses the most cameras, My opinion is that panel shows are quite static because they are sitting because tables or desks like a news show.
News
News studios are static and lack movement because the News Anchors are sitting down and behind a desk. They're very different when compared to other studio events like a Sitcom because although come under the same category they're two completely two different formats.
Magazine Shows
They're not as many cameras when compared with a panel show because it it closer with the audience, they use less cameras so the audience feels closer with the celebrities and the host, they use the cameras differently when compared with a Sitcom, a Sitcom uses cameras to transition to different locations on the set rather than switch to different parts of the set like a magazine show does. They use the audience in a very different way, such as the audience are there to listen to the hosts on a magazine show, for example, Jeremy Kyle but on a Sitcom the audience is there to watch and laugh with the audience at home.
Sitcom
Sitcoms are set out in a very different format when compared with the others, camera techniques for a Sitcom are very limited, they tend to use wide shots like a stage play because the camera man cant film on stage. The audience are there to reinforce laughter because it encourages audience at home to laugh and enjoy, filming in front of live audience is authentic
What kind of crew involves a live studio event and what are their purpose?
The Floor
Camera Operator: This is a huge job for every single one of the formats, the camera operators are in charge of filming the whole show, there job is to make sure all filming is done smoothly and efficiently, without Camera Operators the filming would not be done to a good standard.
Floor Manager: This is a rather big job on the set because they're in charge of all the props that are going to be used when filming or in the future, this is vital for the success of each one of the different shows. A floor Manager are in charge of all the cues for the actors and t also make sure the timing for everything is perfect and everything is going to plan.
Sound Recordist: A sound recordist job is very simple and quite self explanatory. They're in charge of the sound involved in every set, whether it is Sitcom or Panel show, they make sure each part of the sound that is being recorded, for example the sound or laughter of the audience needs to be at a certain level so you can hear the characters on set (Sitcom) or the host and the guest (Magazine)
Runner: A runner is in charge of many things, this job is where a lot of media based careers start, there main jobs are things like greeting the guests or the audiences of the different shows, bringing tea or coffee for the guests or actors, printing or gaining important information for the different shows. Although it seems like a small job, a runner is a big job in a media based environment because they keep a lot of the cast and characters moving and energised
The Gallery
Director: The director is the biggest person on set of these different shows, the biggest reason why he/she is so important is because he/she is the person that makes the show come to life with the ideas and helps the cast do there job's to make the show come together, without the Director the show wouldn't even happen because they're responsible for the show being broadcast onto Television.
Vision Mixer: As a Vision Mixer your prime responsibility will be to cut the camera shots together in any show that is recorded on multiple cameras. This can include studio shows and outside broadcasts, whether pre-recorded or live. They sit next to the director and operate a vision mixing desk. They cut and mix between shots, play in taped items and overlay graphics, all on the instructions of the director.
Sound Mixer: A sound mixer is responsible for the recording the dialogue of whoever is speaking, they're normally in charge of two other boom operators, this is a very important job because there role is essential when creating the show, without the them the sound would be lost and there would be no sound on the final product of the show and it would be able to be broadcast onto Television.
Producer: The producer is the second most important person on set just behind the Director, the Producer will oversee the project from start to finish. They play an integral part of the making of the show, by overseeing it and being on set at all times, they have to make sure everything is perfect and the show is good enough to be put on air, they also play a big part in the distribution and marketing of the show, without the Producer the TV show would defiantly not happen because they're very important for the making of the project.
What Techniques do each formats use and how do they differ?
VT's- This is a great technique for some of the formats, normally this is used in magazine shows, the biggest reason for it being used is to take the audience out of the studio to a different place. If they didn't use VT's the studio could get repetitive or boring, it lets the audience escape to another place whether it is an Interview or something else.
VT's- Video Tapes is also used in News shows, for many reasons, a big reason they have for using it is to show the audience a different place or a news reporter may be reporting on an event, if news needs reporting and it is a big event such as a famous death or a terrorist attack, they will use a VT to show the audience what has happened or have News report ready.
Camera Movements: The Camera Movements for a news studio are very static because the news anchors are sat down, they're not that many cameras in a News studio because how the studio and the News Anchors are presented. The shots that they do use will be medium shots, during a transition to a different part of the studio they will keep with a medium shot because it suits that kind of show.
Camera Movements (Sitcom): The camera movements for a sitcom tend to be quite fast paced, because they don't have much room for camera movement on the set of a Sitcom, the use of multiple cameras offers the opportunity to capture several angles of each scene simultaneously. The different camera shots they tend to use are simple, such as wide shots medium shots and close ups.
Camera Movements (Panel) A panel show uses a lot of movement with cameras because of many reasons, the first reason being because of all the action that is happening on set, the host, guests and audience all happening at once, they have to use the camera movement to there advantage. The second reason is because panel shows since the start have always been set out like this, it is very common that panel shows are always set out this way because it's what the audience are used to. They use a range of different camera shots, practically every one when filming a panel show because it pleases the audience at home to see something different and also by using different camera shots it makes the whole show look better and more professional.
Camera Movements (Magazine) The shots for a magazine show are very simple and follow typical conventions of how a show like this should be, they tend to use simple shots like the typical close ups, wide shots (showing the set) and medium shots to show both the set and the guests or host. I feel that magazine shows use the same amount of movement as a panel show does, because they have got to show the audiences reaction but also show the host and the guests it follows the way a typical magazine set should be filmed.
Laughter Tracks: Its is a huge thing for only one of the formats, Sitcom, since the beginning of Sitcoms laughter tracks have been used to make the audience (at home) intentionally laugh with the tracks, they also do this it to ensure there is no awkward silences during the funny scenes, laughter tracks are huge for Sitcoms because mostly every Sitcom uses Laughter Tracks for example, Friends, How I met Your Mother and Everybody Loves Raymond all use them.
Audience Interaction : This is used in only 2 of the 4 formats, Panel and Magazine, in retrospect use the same type of formula when using the audience, they both get the audience involved, whether it is coming on stage or just getting a quick medium or close up shot of them, they both use the audience when filming to capture there reactions to what is going on during film on stage, this is a good way to use the audience because not only does it show what the audience at home are missing out on but it has an element of comedy surrounding it.
What are the pros and cons of each?
A pro of VTs is that it is good too not always be watching the studio if you're an audience watching from home, it will get boring after a while so having a small switch up with a VT really gives the show something else, also if its something like a Panel show (Mock The Week). A con of VTs is that some people don't want to see VTs, they just want to watch the show and be informed by it what the News Anchors are saying, some say it is useless for the shows and that they don't want to see it because it is time wasting on the show.
A pro for Camera Movements is that it helps the show a lot, by using camera movements the camera doesn't stay in one place and makes it easier and better to watch, if there was no Camera Movement on the set, the show would be boring to watch and would be static and more like a formal news show than a Panel show. A con for Camera Movements is that some people don't always like the transition of camera all the time so the fast camera movements during some of the formats may not be pleasant for some of the audience.
A pro for the Laughter tracks is that it is great for a show like Friends that needs it to cut out the awkward silences between certain points, also they're good because it helps the audience to laugh along with the tracks. A con for Laughter tracks is that sometimes they can be more of a burden for the audience, on certain shows a laughter track doesn't fit and makes the show stupid and unfunny, also Laughter tracks can ruin the whole comedic experience for the audience.
A pro for audience interaction is that it is great for the audience to get involved with the show, the interaction for the audience at home can be funny/sad or just good for the show in general, it allows the audience to give there expression or show there feelings to what is happening on set. A con for audience interaction is that it can sometimes be unfunny or stupid, sometimes it doesn't even fit with certain TV shows and ends up turning bad for the show, some people just want to see the host and guests of the show, that's why they're watching the show and not for the interaction with the audience.
Find Examples of Live studio events, different formats
Compare both examples and how they each differ in formats, techniques and multi-camera set ups
My first analysis is of the popular 'Mock The Week' during the first 1:06 of the show i counted 25 shots showing all the guests, host and close up's of each, by looking at the first minute i can already see that a panel show uses a lot of transitions of the cameras to capture everybody's reaction to a joke or whatever has just been said, this is good because unlike News it doesn't stick to one shot for a long period of time this mixes up the show a little bit and doesn't make it boring to watch. adding to this the techniques they have use already is a lot of camera movement throughout the time it is on. but they also use VT's throughout the show, this is a great and fun trick to use because it allows the audience and everybody else in the studio to catch there breath and watch a VT, this format i have used is very different when compared to News video i will be doing because the News report is very static and there isn't much movement, although behind a desk on Mock The Week there is a lot more movement especially with the host and the guests on stage.
Why have they used these camera set ups and techniques?
They have used these multi camera set ups because it is the best option for the kind of show they're making, due to a single camera production not nearly being enough cameras to work on this kind of set, this is a why multiple cameras work great because it allows you to give multiple perspectives on different things for example the audience, guests and the host, i feel they have also used this technique because makes sense, a single camera would be awkward and probably wouldn't work. The techniques they have used such as VT's are great because they go with what the whole show is about (popular culture), although not a lot of audience reaction is introduced through camera, you can quite clearly hear the sound of the audience laughing, this is a great way to capture your audience because it isn't forcing you to laugh like laughter tracks do but it is persuading you to join in, adding to this, the laughter on the tracks sounds forced and silly, but with real laughter it gives the show a more happy, enjoyable environment where it isn't awkward or sounds forced.
What meaning is created for the audience? Debate why multi camera techniques are used instead of single camera set ups
Multi Camera is used instead of a Single Camera studio because it would be hard and too awkward to film with one camera, especially if it is a panel show like Mock The Week, you would have to keep on moving every single shot across the studio, also it would make sense because a lot of the shots that they use wouldn't be able to be capture with one camera, my opinion is that multi camera is better because it allows you to complete more filming in a shorter duration and also it looks a lot better and more professional with multiple cameras because it gives different perspectives on how the show looks and feels. Multi Camera set ups show the audience everything that is happening when you're watching from home, i feel this is great because like i said, it gives the audience different perspectives of what everything looks like and doesn't get boring because it doesn't stay on one shot for two long and moves over to another shot every 3 seconds or so.
Compare both examples and how they each differ in formats, techniques and multi-camera set ups
My second analysis is a news show, this is very different when compared with the panel show 'Mock The Week', during the first minute of the show, you don't really see much movement with the hosts when compared with the first minute of the Panel show which consists of 25 transitions with a different of 'feel' to it, the Panel show isn't static at all, although it is being a desk like a News format, i feel that the constant transition between different shots of each guest really help to keep the show on its feet and mobile. A News studio is very different to a panel show in many ways, firstly the overall feel of both the formats are couldn't be more different, adding to this a News show is very formal, only giving you serious news, facts and figures but a Panel show is very different as they tend to be very informal depending on the show, for example, the Panel show i analysed 'Mock The Week' actually uses the News for the whole plot of there panel show, they take the recent News stories and make them informal. Adding to this they're similar in some aspects such as some techniques VT's, this technique is huge for both of the two different shows because there show is based around news, which means that they have to show video tapes of new that has happened recently, they use this technique because it makes sense for what both of the formats are about and it helps to audience to understand the stories better instead of just imagining them,
They have used these camera set ups because it is beneficial not just for the audience at home watching but also for the TV shows, News uses a static set up where only 3/4 shots are used and they don't really stray far from them different 3/4 shots, i feel they keep with the static 3 or 4 shots because they're what the audience at home and the camera operators are used too, also because of the format it is presented as, I think they use quite static shots to kind of symbolise that it is news and it still has to retain quite formal and overall seriousness of the show. As i said at the start, i think that they use these type of camera set ups because it is the best lay out for what it is, by making the show quite static and little movement, it means you're focusing more on what they say rather than what they're doing which is a great technique for a news show because it allows the audience to concentrate more on the important reports etc.
Multi Camera is used on a news show because although it doesn't use that many transitions between cameras and there isn't much camera movement, during the whole episode of the news they may have 4 different cameras all together, when compared with a panel show that has 6/7 different camera you really see a difference in the way the program is shown and actually filmed because they're multiple transitions during the panel show that the news show doesn't do. The camera shots they use help the audience understand what is going on and help it to realise what kind of genre it is. Although the News format doesn't follow the typical codes and conventions of multi camera set up because it doesn't change cameras and the angles don't really transition that much you can quite clearly see that a multi camera set up does benefit the format, also a news format doesn't really need a lot of transitions because it isn't there any need for them to have the transitions between the camera they use.

Multi Camera Set Up Live Events
What is a multi camera set up for Live events ?
It works by multiple cameras being set up and the camera operators transitioning through the shots during the live event to show different angles and perspectives of the event.
What is its purpose?
The purpose of multi camera in live events is so that the audience from home can watch the event that they cannot attend, its purpose is to show everybody at home what is happening and to show them entertainment.
What is a Live event?
A live event is different shows or events that are being filmed as you're watching it on the television such as Sports, public events and concerts or festivals, these all tend to be shown live because they have a huge audience who watch them.
What kind of formats do lives events have and explain?
Concerts are a huge live event because they're shown all over the world especially if it is a big festival like Leeds Festival or Glastonbury, they also use festivals as a live event because they have a huge fan base whether you're going or you're watching it on Television.
Sports shows are used as live events because they're so big, every single sport is shown as a live event all over the world, especially sporting events like the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics because they're so big and attract the biggest audiences from all over the world, also if the sporting event wasn't live it wouldn't really make sense because there is an audience who are watching it in a stadium whilst it is live.
Public events are a huge enterprise when it comes to live events because it brings in a different audience but also they're normally very different when compared to Sporting Events and Concerts because they're normally only shown in certain countries depending on who it is E.G Cilla Black's death was only shown in Britain and not many other countries, Sporting events are not like this because they're shown all over the world in every single country.
What kind of crew involves a live event and what are their purpose for a Sport, Public and concerts event
Camera operators for Sporting Events are very different to normal camera operators because it is a sporting event they normally have cameras, unlike a concert that will have much more because it is a normally a larger audience and a festival/concert is much bigger than a stadium.
Camera Operators for a concert are different because they have one of the biggest roles to play when filming the concert/festival, due to it being a larger event than the others, they're responsible for the festival being broadcast all over the world, they have to time the filming perfectly when filming the artists on stage and the rest of the concert.
Camera Operators at a public event tend to only have 2-3 camera (depending what it is) events like funerals don't tend to have many camera because it is only a small event and doesn't need as many cameras and camera operators like as a concert or a sporting event.
Director for all three events will be big in helping out the camera operators do there jobs when filming the live events, i feel that the two other directors would play the same huge part during the two different live shows, the three directors would play the important part in controlling the camera operators and what they film.
Sports Commentators are huge for sporting events because they notify and tell the audience what is actually happening on the pitch or the court, without the commentator a lot of the live event would go amiss and the audiences at home wouldn't understand it as much.
Research this
What Techniques do each formats use and how do they differ?
Camera Movement/Angle Camera movement for the three different formats are very different, for example movement for a public event would be much slower than movement for a festival or concert,, and movement for football would be very slow as well, they're all very different depending on what is happening for each event.
Crowd reaction is a massive part of all of the events, more importantly sporting events because it is a spectators sport and a huge amount of income comes from the fans, so crowd reaction is a huge thing for the players and the sport in general. The shots they use when moving onto the crowd always show there reaction to whatever has just happened, they do this to show the audience at home the reactions that other people have towards the actions on the field.
Hawk eye technology: This is used on all three different types of events, especially if they're held outside, it is a great way to capture the footage of the event because it shows the audience the even this is normally used in sporting events as it is a very popular camera shot to use because it gives the audience a feelings that they're at the event and not just watching it on TV, it also helps the audience to understand the sport a little better and allows them to connect with what is happening.
Goal Line Technology has recently become unbelievably important in sport and especially Football, this technology allows the audience and the officials to see if the ball past the line for it to be a goal, this is used not every game, but used every other game, this is very important because it helps the audience.
Research this
What are the pros and cons of each?
The pros and cons of these techniques are as follows:
The pros of goal line technology is that it is effective, it gives the fans a say in what happens during the game and that is important. I can think of no cons.
The pros of Hawk Eye is that it is very effect because it helps track the trajectory of the ball and helps the fans get involved with the match. The con I feel that this technique is not for everybody although effective, some of the audience just want to watch the match.
The pros of crowd reaction are huge, it gives most sports and other live events a purpose, without the audience the events would be pointless. The con could be that they take to much time filming the audience and it can take away the fun of filming the event.
The pros of camera movement is that it helps the flow of the event and helps the mood depending what the camera movement is like it can also show the audience everything at the event. The con is that the camera movement may not always fit the type of event or the director may not give the right instructions for the type of camera movement depending on the type of event.
Find 2 examples for a live event
Compare both examples and how they each differ in formats, techniques and multi-camera set ups
My first example is a sporting event, the Winter Olympics Skeleton Racing, the format for this type of event is sporting, the techniques they use are very different to other sports such as the camera movements they are in total 27 different camera shots through one race, when compared with a different sport they're a lot more cameras used and most of them are different angles to each other, this is good because it shows the audience a different point of view every time.
Why have they used these camera set ups and techniques
They have used these camera set ups and techniques because they're beneficial to the crowd and to the audience at home, by placing them where they have the crowd at home who are watching on Television are able to see every angle of the track and can see the athletes who are competing in the tournament. They have also used crowd reaction because it gives the audience at home a sense that they're there at the event, like it helps them imagine that they're in the crowd, i also feel the audience makes it look and sound better because it helps give people a picture of what it is like.
What meaning is created for the audience? Debate why multi camera techniques are used instead of single camera set ups
Multi camera set ups are much better than single camera because multi camera gives the audience more perspectives and shows the audience a lot more than just a single camera, because a single camera can only show so much but with a multi camera you have an infinite amount of possibility's when it comes to filming. On the other hand Multi Camera can become costly depending on the event and the camera, with a single camera production you limit the amount of money you have to spend, not mentioning the amount of weight and baggage you won't have to carry with a single camera production, multi camera is used more because if you're filming a large open area like a football pitch or a parade you will need more than one camera to do the job, one camera can not film an entire stadium or an entire parade so with multiple camera you are able to work quicker and more effectively.
My second example is a concert, this is fairly similar when compared with a sporting example, because although they use many cameras the way all the cameras are transitioned are fairly slow, also the cameras stay on screen for a very long time, longer than usual with live events, for this live event they didn't change clips so fast because there is still a lot of action going on during the clips, during the first minute i counted 7 different shots in total, this is very different when compared with public events that tend to use a lot more shots to capture all the action, public events use a lot of different shots quickly (depending what the live event is).
They have used this amazing camera set ups for many reasons, i feel the biggest reason is to capture all the amazing action all at once, by using these fantastic complex cameras, they can capture all the music and action that is going on on the set, they also use it because normal studio cameras wouldn't work, they would need to be special cameras that are able to fit on the special equipment they're using to film, in comparison with the sport multi camera set ups, there is a big difference for example the sport set ups are very static and transition quickly, especially in the winter Olympic sport i analysed, where they transition quick but all the cameras stay in one place. I feel they have used the crowd reaction for many reasons, the first reason is it makes the whole show look a lot better for the audience at home, secondly capturing the audiences reaction is a vital part in making people want to go again, they use the audience very well, for example, they show a long shot of Kanye West on stage but it looks like it has been filmed through a crowd, this is a very good technique to use because it gives you the illusion that you're actually in the crowd and makes the audience who are watching at home feel part of something bigger.
The audience are meant to feel important whilst watching this, music is a huge part of peoples lives,, the target audience's who go to big concerts and festival's obviously like music and the audience watching at home do to, so making the audience at home feel special and like they're wanted at the concert/festival is a huge advertising campaign also... if you can persuade people to come by using your camera techniques then it's a bonus. My opinion is that the reason why multi camera is better than single camera for this kind of event is because it is so large, concerts or festivals are normally a large open space, camera operators need to use that space to there advantage and they need to use the space they have to use all the camera techniques they can, with an event like a concert you need to use multiple cameras because one camera isn't enough to support the whole concert/festival with one camera because eit would be impossible, also it wouldn't look as professional and as good as it looks with one

UNIT 22/23 Questions
Tennis Questions.
How many cameras do you think have been used?
After watching this video many times and going over and analysing the camera's i think that there is 5 or 6 different cameras being used throughout the 8 minutes, they change the shots many times throughout the whole clip, I would estimate around 60-80 transitions between the different cameras.
Explain the type of shots used to cover the match?
They used many shots during the match such as close ups when point was gained by one of the tennis players or when they are hitting the ball back and forth they go for a wider shot to show both of the players and the tennis court to show what is happening.
2. Why do you think they would need to use a multi camera set up at a tennis match?
I feel they use many different cameras because they want to show all the action of what is happening, for example they show close ups to capture the action more closely but also to show the expressions of the players and get the audience to understand the players more when they win or score a point. Adding to this i noticed that they used a slow pan shot as the nearest player was moving into different positions on his side of the course.
3. How effective do you think this is for the audience?
3. How effective do you think this is for the audience?
I feel it is very effective for the audience because it shows them more than just a match but it also shows the emotions of the game and also it makes the audience fell more involved with it for example when they do the slow pan shot it makes you feel like you're in the audience moving with the players as they go back and forth.

Treatment for Animation
Treatment for Animation:
Plot:
Our plot for our stop animation project is newspaper articles with different stories and headlines over the year which we will then make them come alive.
Beginning:
Studio newsreader Voiceover- introduces with visual spinning newspaper is used at the beginning to introduce the struggles of the refugees with a touching and emotive image with refugees walking to the diversion of Germany and walking away from England
Voice over new reader and voice over for characters -Introduction will be about the refugees crisis and a controversial piece on how the UK are not letting them in and Germany are.
Design:
Colour
The colours I will use will be quite natural colours E.G Black, Grey and White apart from the characters designs that will be possibly more vibrant and brighter colours such as Red, Blue and other colours, I will use the natural colours as the base for the newspaper or use them to expand the Newspaper templates so they look more innovative and creative. The vibrant, brighter colours that will be used will be made to create better and more realistic drawings as well as to show the audience a funnier and better animation project.
Setting: The setting i will use for my project will either be an Office Room or a 'Library' setting, I will use one of these settings because i feel like it would enhance the whole experience for the audience during the film, also it will make the newspaper and the animations look more exciting and make the audience want to carry on watching it.
Backgrounds: The only background that is going to be remotely visible apart from the introduction / end where the room behind will be visible, will be the newspaper background that will have the animations and drawings on them that will be in the audiences vision for the majority of the video.
Costume: The costumes I have chosen to use for my certain characters are some of the real life attire that the characters (celebrities I have chosen) would wear during video (interviews) or pictures (paparazzi), I have chosen to use these certain costumes because it gives a solid and real life representation of the characters.
Props: Due to my stop motion project being all drawn,, there isn't many props that would apply when it comes to mine, although I feel the newspaper that has the pictures on them would possibly be the only and biggest prop that is being used.
Facial expressions: This is quite a tricky one due to the main fact that they’re going to be many facial expressions used on our characters, I feel we would benefit from the facial expressions that we’re using because of the satirical nature of our stop motion and I feel that it would be better for the audience if they saw the emotion and the expressions on the characters faces so they will be able to understand what is happening.
Sound: The sound we will use will be voice-overs and sound effects and maybe some music integrated in with the start and the end. Firstly the voice-overs that are included in this will be voice-overs for most of the news headlines so it sounds professional and also looks a lot better with what is happening on camera, also voice-overs can be used for each one of the news headlines so really make the drawings/cut outs come to life. Secondly we will use sound effects to introduce the stop motion project whilst there being pictures up on the screen, as well as during the drawing process we can have background noise to make it sound professional and we can also use them during the drawing process when we need funny or cheesy sound effects to show the audience the light-heartedness of the project.
Music: during some of the drawings we will use music in the background to tell the story a little bit more and making the music fit what is going on the screen at all times, also music can be used to show the audience what is happening on screen a little bit more as well as possibly giving whatever is going on screen a deeper meaning, I feel this would be good because it also gives something else to the project that it wouldn't have without the music.
Target Audience and Genre:
The target audience for this type of stop motion will be 16+ because of the dark humour and content as well as the format E.G: News that will be using is being changed into controversial and a slight political spin. We thought 166+ would be the target audience not just because of the political spin but also due to the comedic values that a younger audience may not understand. We came to the conclusion that 16+ is a good age because by that age you have watched something past the watershed time and are used to swearing or violence and any graphic nature. Some of our ideas may include scenes of a graphic nature and we feel, are perfect for the genre we have chosen. Finally we have chosen this age range due to to sarcastic humour involved which some kids may not understand.
Voice over new reader and voice over for characters -Introduction will be about the refugees crisis and a controversial piece on how the UK are not letting them in and Germany are.
Middle: Introduction of Gay marriages in America: It will start with Donald Trump giving a speech on gay marriage and how it is not acceptable then supporters of gay marriage will shoot Donald Trump with a 'love' arrow and then he then supports gay marriage.
Bruce Jenner converting into a woman: We will have him in an Interview and Bruce then admits he is a woman, and he then goes into a ‘poof’ of smoke and turns into a woman.
Kanye West running for president: During this stop motion we will re-enact the Kanye West' speech during the VMA's but we will change the face so it is funnier and the face has more character.
David Cameron’s alleged relationship with a pig: The drawing for this will be David Cameron dressed up as a gladiator with his pants down whilst holding up a pigs head.
The Queen becoming the longest serving Monarch: We will use the queen as our main character, she will be a huge antagonist during this scene by driving a dumper truck into the rubbish piles which are full of poor people.
Ending: Our news programme will end by screwing up the big piece of paper and throwing it in the bin and then the credits will show.
Style:
Our idea is based on drawings and cut outs. The animation is based on private eye it is based on it due to the satirical humour and the possible dark humour involved in each story. We will do this by using cut outs and using some drawings we have done. Some of the stories have a political spin as this is the style that private eye uses and this would fit in with our target audience. Newspaper style, with cheesy sound effects and comedy headlines.
Sound - sound effects (such as a posh mischievous laugh for the part with the queen) will be used for comedic effect and to emphasise what the characters are doing and what is happening on screen. Music will change throughout the animation depending on the current news article, eg. the song 'I am God' for Kanye west's speech. We plan on using a variety of ambient office sounds, such as phones ringing and a constant typewriter noise. At the start of each news article, the 'spinning symbol' sound will play as the newspaper spins inwards. most of these sound effects should help bring the news stories to life, and make it funnier and more satirical, and likewise the music would be relevant to the specific article.
Lighting: the film will use soft lighting, focused on the papers in question, in order to make the writing easier to read and see. We will also try to focus the lighting on the news story we are currently focusing on, to give it a look similar to a spotlight. We plan on filming inside a kind of office room, so the lighting may be effected by the windows, sunlight etc. this kind of lighting helps it look more official and more like big news tabloids. We will also attempt to film in a room that makes the newspaper look a little darker, to make it look more of a greyish colour like a real life newspaper.

They have also taught me self-control and patience, these are two important factors in any job and even at University because they allow me be in control of any situation where I may need to react quick whether it is in a work based environment or whether there is a threatening situation at University.
