Confidentiality agreements

1) Do you think it would be wrong for Luke to share information about coming releases with friends and family? Why or why not?

Yes in some ways it would be very wrong and unprofessional to share any information about your job due to it being confidential just like any other job that has private work E.G- A police officer wouldn't release any information about cases etc. Adding to this i feel although in some ways its confidential and private information, it isn't going to hurt to share information with people that you can trust and wouldn't show the information and would keep it to themselves, but overall yes, i do think its wrong to share information about any private information that you have received, doesn't matter what job or work you are involved in.

2) What are acceptable and unacceptable requirements of a confidentiality agreement with an employee?

An acceptable requirements is that you don't leak or give out any sensitive or private information that could possibly harm the company, make them loose money or give out any information that should be kept private such as trailers for films or scenes from the films.

Unacceptable requirements are requirements that shouldn't be included due to danger of the company, money loss or private information that could be leaked, every worker should keep information that they receive from the company or fellow workers private and should not leak any o this information.

3) Was it wrong for Luke's unknown fellow employee to release the trailer, even if it resulted in increased publicity for the movie?

Yes, when leaking that information although it increased publicity for the movie it harmed Luke's reputation, his job and could have been sued from the creators of the movie and legally prosecuted, also by leaking this information it put his job at risk and could have got him fired or seriously in trouble. Adding to this all workers signed a Confidentiality agreement, so none of the workers should spread information that could harm fellow co-workers, even though it did increase publicity it is still very wrong to release sensitive information.

4) What precedent is this situation setting by not investigating the leak?

I feel that by not investigating this leak more people will think about leaking Unreleased movie trailers and will think they will not get punished. I feel that they need to punish Luke or somebody who is involved in this leak as an example for everybody to look at.

5) What is the harm in a leaked trailer?

Although there is no harm in a leaked trailer there is harm for the people who are involved due to it being very illegal to publish private or sensitive information and there can be serious and strong repercussions to leaking a trailer, also people like Luke that wasn't involved in this may get wrongly blamed and in another case with a different person they may not be so light and would more likely to punish somebody in Luke's position next time.
