Coffee Films is a private independent film company that thrive on making the best Independent films around Britain and have won numerous awards and runners up in awards such as Best Cinematography, Wreck beach International and Audience Choice, East End Film Society.
Coffee Films was originally started by friends in 1996 with no budget and just camcorders, (a quote from there website) "Working with an array of cheap S-VHS and Hi-8 consumer camcorders and editing tape to tape the group made a wide range of largely experimental films and videos on zero-budgets"
The friends that included Musicians, Actors and Singers all came together to produce some of the coolest and successful short films in the last 15 years.
The BBC (British Broadcasting Company) is one of the biggest television and programming company in the world, broadcasting since 1922 and is the oldest broadcasting company in the world. The BBC is a public broadcasting company which means its literally owned by the public, but obviously has to have bosses and executives to keep the BBC running. The BBC also run a radio service which gives the public multiple chances to listen to radio such as BBC Radio 1 BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.
As i said in the introduction the BBC is paid by the public by merchandising, License fees and commercial sales of programmes, these are just some of the ways that we pay for the BBC to keep running on Television.
Now the BBC is huge, all around the world with TV shows that bring in millions every year, and its only going to get bigger.
As for COFFEE FILMS, they will soon be releasing more short films and music videos and will more than likely be very successful.
Ratings- (BBC)
Ratings are a massive part of the T.V industry with ITV and BBC bringing in millions of viewers every single day, also providing competition for BBC and ITV such as TV shows competing against each other. For Example - Silent Witness (BBC) and Broadchurch (ITV) are competing for viewers due to them being on at the same time on the same nights, Silent Witness is ow winning on views with there ratings coming in at over 8 million, but Broadchurch hitting just over 6 million views you can see very clearly who is winning in the ratings with these two shows, also higher ratings means higher revenue for the Broadcasting company that the TV show is on.
Merchandising is also a massive part of broadcasting and the revenue for the broadcasting companies, its such an important part of broadcasting, because it promotes the TV show as a larger thing and not just a program, merchandising such as TV Box-sets, posters, clothing and accessories help the revenue of the broadcasting by a large amount because of a lot of TV shows have huge fan-bases so by fans buying merchandise it will bring in money for the company.
Online (BBC)
The Internet has been a huge part of the bbc growing into what it is today with the likes of pictures, promotions and videos all being shared around the world and this is one way the bbc promotes itself throughout the internet.
Streaming:
Streaming is a big part of the BBC due to TV being shown from the BBC networks on different channels that have bought the show off the BBC such as Channel DAVE which shows old TV series from the bbc that they have cut off or shows that haven't been on for a very long time. Streaming is also a massive enterprise due to applications such as Netflix or LOVEFILM, these help the Independant films and the BBC by showing there TV shows and by doing this the bbc will earn promotional success and also will create a bigger fan base.
